Since 1981, Videan Unlimited Owner/Master Apprentice Ann N. Videan, APR, has helped businesses enhance their marketing. She directed corporate internal and external communication in banking and high-tech for 12 years, managed clients in a high-tech public relations agency for four years and, in 1996, opened Videan Unlimited, LLC, to support marketing for small- to medium-sized businesses.
Here are a few of her career highlights:
- Serving as the catalyst for client Rhino Internet/Rhino Staging to help bring white rhinos back to the Phoenix Zoo, 2004.
- Graduating from Customer Evangelism University (word-of-mouth marketing training), 2003.
- Handling the public relations to recruit film extras to Sun Devil Stadium during filming of the football-scenes for the Tom Cruise movie Jerry Maguire, 1996.
- Writing and/or editing at least one publication a month for more than two decades.
- Accreditation (APR) in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America, 1989

About LINC
Videan developed LINC in 2002, as a communication process bringing together like-minded people who want to achieve mutual goals through learning and sharing. We use it as the foundation for all our marketing work here at VU. LINC involves the energy to Listen willingly, share generously to Illuminate ideas, Nurture and enjoy our endeavors, and work together for good to Create success and fulfillment for all.
It started with one "learning sprite" named
Lumanesse, who reminded us to approach everyone on life's
path with open arms and an honest heart so we can learn
and succeed together. After a time, we added four mythical
characters -- a team, of course -- to artistically represent
each of the four steps in the LINC communication process.
About Our Word-of-Mouth Marketing Focus
In Videan's 20-plus years of marketing and PR experience, handling all types of corporate and agency communication, she has learned that the most effective marketing is word-of-mouth marketing -- just people talking to people.
Many of the strategies and tactics we develop as we work through the LINC process are based on the six tenets of Customer Evangelism outlined in the book Creating Customer Evangelism by Ben McConnell and Jackie Huba. The concept of developing word-of-mouth connections using the six tenets crystallized in 2003, when Videan attended Customer Evangelism University in Chicago. She saw how this philosophy of business embraces not only commonsense, lower-cost, marketing ideas, but also the Golden Rule. She'd found her company's direction, and realized that sharing strategic ideas to build word-of-mouth marketing was how she could best benefit your business.
About The Videan Unlimited Think Tank
One of the key components to creating buzz through word-of-mouth
connections is brainstorming creative marketing concepts.
When you sit in the same square rooms with everyday rectangular
tables, you can't help but get bland ideas. Put yourself
in a space with unique colors, sounds and lights and the
thoughts automatically move outside of the box.
So,
after attending Customer Evangelism University in a unique,
loft, meeting space in downtown Chicago, Videan went searching
for a similar creative space in which to hold brainstorming
and executive meetings in Phoenix. When she couldn't find
one, she arranged to sponsor the Videan
Unlimited Think Tank. [Formerly housed at the Arizona
Small Business Association (ASBA), the Think Tank is looking
for a new home. Any ideas or suggestions?]
With an aquarium
theme including custom-crafted
fish and coral swimming along the walls, a bubble lamp,
bubble and pearl lights, ocean sounds and the scent of
rain, the room is a total sensory experience.
