The thing about a tribe -- it’s not just a group or crowd, it’s an interactive community making a difference to its members.

Seth Godin, in his book Tribes, uses the following characteristics to define a tribe:
• Members must have a common goal/cause/interest.
• Members are exclusive to a certain group (some folk can't    or won't join).
• The leader(s) create a space for members to communicate    easily, online and/or in-person.
• Its leaders(s) lead, they don't manage.
• Members create what they will, organically, with the    common interest of the group in mind.
